It is mid summer, but the sky is cloudy and rain is forecast, but my bet is that the rain will be minimal, so I thought I could brighten up my day with some bright colours.
I do not like a lot of bright colour around me, but i quite like bright colours with a very dark background … makes them really come to life.

It would be hard to ignore the first version in a quilt exhibition …
… but I would prefer the washed out colours in the room I had to sleep in every night. Much more restful.

Yesterday I shared designs from a similar project file to the one I am using today, and commented that it was to brighten the day … it worked, and I spent pretty much all day in the garden playing in the dirt! Started some projects I hope to finish today, but hopefully the sunshine will ease the aches and pains while I am out there!
Despite the fun and happy colours, I much prefer to live with comparatively muted colours in the house, but like a colourful garden.
